Alfred W. LeBlanc, 79, of Villa Providence, Shediac, and formerly of Dover, died Sunday at Dr. Georges L. Dumont Hospital, Moncton, after a lengthy illness.

Born in Memramcook West, he was a son of the late Willie and Mélina (Belliveau) LeBlanc. He had been employed with the provincial Department of Public Works on retirement and attended Notre-Dame de l'Annonciation Roman Catholic Church, Pré-d'en-Haut.

He is survived by his wife, the former Léa LeBlanc; five daughters, Mrs. Alfred Gautreau (Alfreda) of St. Anselme, Mrs. Paul Belliveau (Bernice) of Dieppe, Mrs. Edgar Belliveau (Marie-Louise) of Memramcook West, Mrs. Francis Cormier (Rhéaldine) of La Montagne and Mrs. Yvon Poirier (Dianne) of Irishtown; five sons, Willie and Paul, both of Fox Creek, Pierre of Bathurst, Rhéal of Dover and Roger of La Montagne; a sister, Mrs. Arcade Melanson (Corinne) of Dieppe; a half-sister, Mrs. Gérard Leger (Albina) of Dieppe; four half-brothers, Antoine of Shediac, Clément of Dieppe, and Edgar and Alphonse Melanson, both of Moncton, 29 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. A brother, Emerie, died previouslv

The body will be at Dupuis Funeral Home, Memramcook, this evening. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 p.m. at Notre Dame de l'Annonciation Church. Burial will be in the parish cemetery in the spring.
